Sometimes, we are too preoccupied with lot of things that we forget to relax and enjoy life. I was recently invited to experience Momo Beach House in Panglao, Bohol, and it was indeed a chill and relaxing stay.

Momo Beach House is located along Momo Beach in the western part of Panglao Island. The resort is quite far from the busy Alona and Dumaluan beaches, giving guests a sense of exclusivity and total relaxation. Momo Beach House is an eco-chic boutique resort surrounded by lush greenery and pristine waters, and it’s ideal for people who love nature. Read more about Momo Beach House on my previous post.

Yacht parties are also more exclusive and usually by invite only since limited number of people can only be accommodated on board. The view from the yacht is also what I love the most, especially during sunset. I seldom ride a yacht that’s why it’s something that I really enjoy.

Yachting in Modern Kimono

I was invited to Tanduay Select Yacht Party few months ago together with some of Cebu’s social media influencers. We sailed along Mactan Channel giving us an amazing view of the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, Cebu City skyline and the pristine beaches of Mactan Island. The afternoon was filled with sick beats, food, and of course, free flowing drinks, all courtesy of Tanduay Select.

I became a little adventurous with my outfit during the party. I wore a swim shorts, a nautical printed shirt, and a modern kimono as a cover up. I was hesitant with this look at first but I’m glad I was able to pull if off.

Going Solo in Malaysia https://countocram.com/2017/06/09/going-solo-in-malaysia/ https://countocram.com/2017/06/09/going-solo-in-malaysia/#respond Fri, 09 Jun 2017 00:45:03 +0000 http://countocram.com/?p=2441 Continue reading "Going Solo in Malaysia"]]> One of the items in my bucket list is to solo-travel to an international destination. I finally placed a check mark on this item during my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you haven’t read my “Short Trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia” blog post, I got invited by AirAsia to attend the first ever Santan Food Festival at the AirAsia RedQ in Malaysia. Several media, bloggers and influencers from ASEAN countries attended the event.

I was supposed to fly to Malaysia on the day of the event together with the rest of Cebu representatives but I request to fly-in a day before so that I’ll have time to explore Kuala Lumpur. I was worried that I won’t have time to visit Kuala Lumpur to see the Petronas Twin Towers since it’s kilometers away from the AirAsia RedQ.

Kuala Lumpur

I was not really nervous going solo in Kuala Lumpur since I’ve been there last year during my birthday trip. My biggest worry actually is who will be taking my photos, specifically my OOTDs, ahaha! You know, blogger duties. But I was able to survive my solo trip thanks to my trusty Fujifilm X-A3 camera, Fujifilm Camera Remote app and a gorilla pod.

Going Solo in Malaysia

With the Fujifilm Camera Remote app, you can use your smart phone to shoot images, adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO and focus. The best thing about it is that you will be able to view the frame on the app, so positioning and angling will be a breeze. You can even go as far as 20 feet to capture the shot, there might be a slight delay but it’s possible. You can also use the app to browse and transfer images from your camera to your phone which is very convenient.

Going Solo in Malaysia

During my stay in Kuala Lumpur, I visited two of my favorite buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers. I roam around KLCC Park to find a good spot for OOTDs with the Petronas Twin Towers in the background. Of course, I also chose the spots with only few people. I setup my camera, connect my phone, used the camera app, and viola!

Kuala Lumpur’s weather is similar to what we have in the Philippines but it’s more humid. I always wanted to look stylish whenever I travel, good thing, my modern kimono made my look stand out. My backpack also added accent to my look, and at the same time, store my travel essentials.

In general, I was happy that I was able to explore KL on my own, and took good photos of myself. I don’t have to worry on my future solo travels anymore, thanks to my Fujifilm X-A3. Thank you AirAsia for flying me to Kuala Lumpuer, Malaysia.

I always want to make sure that I’m bringing the right clothes for certain activity or destination. Planning our outfits for travel helps us pack light, but more often than not, I always end up bringing an extra set of clothing, I think it’s a mentality that is really hard to escape when you are a style blogger. I always end up bringing extra sets of clothes for “what if” scenarios.

During my recent travel to Palawan, our tour itinerary was given ahead of time that’s why I was able to plan what to wear. Part of our itinerary was a tour around Ai World Resort. I decided to wear a mandarin collared shirt because it has a more resort feel to it. I then paired it with a red jersey shorts and some summer must-have accessories. I also brought a tote bag to carry my summer essentials. I love using a tote bag because I can put a lot of stuff in it and I can also easily access them.

It is one of the tours that Ai World Palawan is offering as part of their initiative to support the community surrounding their property. Bacungan River is located in Barangay Bacungan, and is home to different kind of fishes and mangrove forest.

During the river cruise, we also stopped by to do some fishing and kayaking which is really fun. It was really amazing to see the lush forest of mangroves surrounding the river. I learned that mangroves serve as nurseries to many fish species, the trees also help filter pollutants, and protect coastlines when there is a storm.

Since it is summer, I wore this cotton shirt with tropical prints. The shirt is made of thin fabric making it really comfortable to wear. I paired it a swimming shorts just in case I won’t be able to resist to dip in the water. I really love how the tropical prints match the color of the shorts. I also worn my must have summer accessories, a native hat, sunglasses, neckerchief and a pair of mandals. I also brought with me this small envelope clutch to put my money and power bank.

Modern Kimono https://countocram.com/2017/04/06/modern-kimono/ https://countocram.com/2017/04/06/modern-kimono/#respond Thu, 06 Apr 2017 09:56:47 +0000 http://countocram.com/?p=2154 Continue reading "Modern Kimono"]]> I’ve been exposed to Japanese culture since I was a kid because my Okasang (Mom) lives in Japan. No, I’m not half Japanese, I just dress like one, ahaha! I’ve always been fascinated with how Japanese dresses up, they have this sense of style that is simple, unique and effortless.

Like everything else, the Japanese style has evolved through out the time. According to Shoichi Aoki during his interview with qz.com, Japan’s wild and creative Harajuku style is dead. Harajuku is known to be a haven of fashion-forward Japanese youths who are not afraid to express their selves through fashion. During my two visits in Harajuku, I only noticed few Japanese who were wearing over-the-top clothing or like those that I saw in magazines and internet. Mostly, people are just wearing basic and minimalist looking outfits. According to Aoki, Harajuku’s wild fashion has already been replaced by conservative and less-unique style because of the influence of international brands that penetrated Japan’s fashion industry, and that also includes their very own Uniqlo.

I love Uniqlo because of the simplicity and ingenuity of their clothing lines, but I won’t be talking about the brand on this blog. I’m wearing a Uniqlo jogger pants on this style post though. :D

Lately, I’ve noticed that my sense of style has evolved into something basic and simple. I also love pieces in earth tones and muted colors, and for me these are the words that best describes what Japanese style is right now, and I totally loves it!

I found this modern kimono while browsing the rack of sale items at Bershka during my recent trip in Japan. I’ve always wanted to own a modern kimono, and I got it for only 1,290 Yen or roughly, 500 pesos. I fell in love with it the moment I tried it because it fits me perfectly.

Cap: The SM Store | Eyewear: Fly Shades | Shirt: Markus | Modern Kimono: Bershka | Pants: Uniqlo | Watch: Komono | Tote Bag: Forever 21 | Sneakers: New Balance

For this look, I just put together basic items in earth tones. What I love about wearing basic items is that, it’s very easy to put together a look, you just need to make sure that the colors goes well with each other, and voila! It’s also very easy to mix and match.

I know I can come up with more looks using this modern kimono and I’m really excited to show it to you guys.

During my second visit, I made sure that we will explore the very popular Nacpan Beach. Due to a typhoon, all island hopping activities were cancelled, good thing we were able to do the inland tour which includes Nacpan Beach on places to visit.

Let me talk about the latter. We all have our dreams, some just wanted simple things, and some wanted to achieve something big.

City of Dreams

When I was still in school, I just dreamed of working in an office, have my own desk, and work on computer related stuff, and that’s where I am right now. I am the type of person who just wanted simple things in life, but as we grow old, we realized that we need to dream big for us to discover the things that we thought we cannot do. When we dream big, we tend to push ourselves to our limits and work really hard to achieve those dreams.

Today, I have a new set of goals I wanted to achieve, and I know I’m on the right track of achieving them. Let me write this quote I read in the internet, “think big, dream big, believe big, and the results will be big”.

I went to Manila last year for the Vivo V5 launch wearing this outfit. We stayed at the beautiful Nobu Hotel in City of Dreams. This place reminds me so much of Japan because of the modern zen like architectures and interior designs.

Electro Beach Festival + Flossy Footwear’s latest collection https://countocram.com/2016/10/19/electro-beach-festival-flossy-footwears-latest-collection/ https://countocram.com/2016/10/19/electro-beach-festival-flossy-footwears-latest-collection/#respond Wed, 19 Oct 2016 02:07:44 +0000 http://countocram.com/?p=1648 Continue reading "Electro Beach Festival + Flossy Footwear’s latest collection"]]> I recently attended Ibiza Beach Club’s Electro Beach Festival at Mövenpick Cebu and I had a blast! The Electro Beach Festival is one of my favorite EDM beach party series in Cebu and it happens twice a year. The first Electro Beach Festival this year was held last April. Partying with Japanese was really fun, they have this electrifying energy and they dance like nobody’s watching. And of course, there’s no other better venue for this kind of parties than Mövenpick Mactan Island Cebu’s Ibiza Beach Club.

Our day started with an afternoon chill at the Cabanas over some drinks and of course, Mövenpick Ice Cream! I was actually given a pass to enjoy the beach and pool but I arrived at Mövenpick Cebu late afternoon because of work. I just decided to relax and wait for the party.

This year’s theme for the Electro Beach Festival was White Party. I decided to wear a white polo and a light grey shorts to keep it simple, and my floral Flossy plimsolls to give the look an accent. This pair of Flossy is the perfect footwear for venues like Mövenpick Cebu.

Hat: Forever 21 | Shirt: Penshoppe | Shorts: Cotton On | Clutch Bag: Regatta | Plimsolls: Flossy Footwear
Hat: Forever 21 | Shirt: Penshoppe | Shorts: Cotton On | Clutch Bag: Regatta | Plimsolls: Flossy Footwear | Watch: KOMONO

I fell in love with Flossy Footwear the first time I wore them during a sunset cruise along Mactan Chanel. I kept wearing my first pair whenever I go out and travel because they’re easy to wear and comfortable. I was very excited when Primer Group contacted me to check out their latest collection.

The new collection features designs that suits every personality; floral for the outgoing, glittery for partyphiles, minimal prints and bold colors for those who want to keep it simple. Check out these latest designs and other collections at Flossy Footwear branch in SM City Cebu.

Going back to Electro Beach Festival, we kick-off the night with a sumptuous dinner buffet at the Sails Restaurant featuring dishes all over Asia. We then headed to Ibiza Beach Club for the party. The night was filled with beats from Japanese DJs that kept everyone dancing.

Looking forward to more Electro Beach Festival!
