I visited Seoul last year during the peak of their autumn season and it was truly a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to see autumn foliage, and South Korea did not disappoint me. I thought of writing this post because I get a lot of inquiries on how to get to Nami Island, one of the best place to visit in South Korea during autumn season.

My friends and I visited South Korea during the end of October when the autumn foliage was at it’s best. We visited several sites around Seoul but Nami Island in Chuncheon won our hearts.

Namiseom Island or Nami Island is a small island located north-east of Seoul. It is popular because of its tree-lined road which produce a very picturesque scene specially during autumn. Nami Island has also become even more popular because of the hit Korean Drama in 2002, Winter Sonata.

The island is located 63km north-east of Seoul and can be access through various public transportation. We opted to visit Nami Island by train because we weren’t able book the shuttle bus in advanced. The train journey will require you transfer to different lines. You then need to take a bus or taxi going to the ferry terminal that will lead to Nami Island. The entrance fee to Nami Island for adults is 10,000 won, which already includes a round trip ferry ride.

While on board the ferry, you will be able to see the autumn foliage of Nami Island already. A sea of green, brown, yellow, red and orange leaves will welcome you and feels very magical. We never wasted time and took hundreds of photos.

It was my first time to dress up for autumn and I came really prepared. Temperature during autumn in South Korea has an average of 10 degrees Celsius, so wearing layers of clothing that will keep you warm is really important. I’m glad that even though we don’t have cold seasons in the Philippines, some international brands still sell outerwear.

It’s always my dream to wear a trench coat and it finally happened in South Korea. This black wool trench coat really kept me warm. I was also wearing a pullover and a polo shirt underneath, yes, that’s three-layers of clothing. This outfit really kept me warm through out the day. Nami Island also involves a lot of walking, so wearing comfortable shoes is must.

How to get to Nami Island

1. From Seoul Station, take Line 1 to Cheongnyangni Station
2. Change to Gyeongui-Jungang Line and get off at Mangu Station
3. Change to Gyeongchun Line and get off at Gapyeong Station
4. From Gapyeong Station you can either walk, ride the bus or taxi to get to Nami Island ferry terminal
5. Lastly ride the ferry to Nami Island or if you are more adventurous, you can zip your way to the island.

I also wrote about a 3 day Seoul itinerary during my visit last summer. Please do check it out.

Seoul-Searching https://countocram.com/2016/07/26/seoul-searching/ https://countocram.com/2016/07/26/seoul-searching/#respond Tue, 26 Jul 2016 05:28:42 +0000 http://countocram.com/?p=1282 Continue reading "Seoul-Searching"]]> If you’ve been following my posts, I already completed my 3 Day Seoul, South Korea Itinerary and I really enjoyed writing that one since all the information regarding my recent trip to Seoul are still fresh. So if you are planning for a trip to Seoul, South Korea soon, do check it out.

I realized that travel blogging is quite difficult because you need to be detailed as much as possible. As an avid traveler, whenever I plan a trip, I always do a research about the places to visit, how to get there, where and what to eat, and things to experience.

As a fashion blogger, planning my outfits for a trip is very challenging because I always carefully think what to wear. It is also hard for me to travel lite because I always end up packing extra sets of clothing for “just in case” scenario. I do enjoy putting up an outfit on what to wear on day 1, day 2, day 3 or on a particular location. I always make sure that the outfit I’m wearing is weather and location appropriate, and of course comfortable.

I was invited by AirAsia Philippines to experience summer in South Korea together with Cebu’s local media and social media influencers. I carefully planned my outfits because I know how fashionable Koreans are. It’s funny because I started by sketching the looks I wanted to put up because my clothes were still in the laundry. As soon as I got my laundry, I immediately started mixing and matching and started packing.

Since it’s summer in South Korea, I didn’t really worry much because I know I can just wear the clothes that I normally wear here in the Philippines. But just to be sure that I’m bringing the right clothing, I checked the weather in Seoul from time to time before the trip. The temperature in Seoul was predicted to be at 28-30 degrees in the morning to afternoon and drops to 18-20 degrees at night to early morning.

It was already evening when we arrived in Seoul and it was 18 degrees, good thing I was wearing a cover up that kept me warm.

I really love the color scheme of this airport outfit look that I put up. The combination of tan and olive colors are very manly and pleasing in the eyes. Since I can’t fit my straw hat in my luggage because it will get deformed, I decided to come up with a look that is suitable wearing it.

I used my JanSport Watchtower backpack for my carry on luggage. As what I’ve mentioned on my School Boy post, this bag is perfect for traveling. The small compartments of the bag are perfect for your phone, wallet, passport and small items that needs easy access. The main compartment can also store some clothing and items that you need to access during the flight.

We were greeted by our guide as soon as we got out at the arrival hall of Incheon International Airport. She knows that we were really hungry because of flight delay so she brought us to a restaurant in the airport serving Bibimbap. I really like the interior of the restaurant because it matches my outfit, ahah! It’s also nice to finally taste the authentic Bibimbap of South Korea.

We traveled to Seoul after dinner which took about 40 minutes and we spent the rest of the night exploring Myeongdong. We then capped the night with chicken and beer.

The summer really calls for a visit to the beach, good thing, Cebu is blessed with really good ones, and just a few hours’ drive away from the city. Mactan Island is home to luxurious hotels and resorts and one of them is Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort. We decided to spend our beach outing here because they gave us a good rate. The resort also has nice spots for OOTDs and of course beautiful beach for swimming.

We arrived at the resort mid morning and it was funny because we all then spread out and did our thing, shoot OOTD photos. What I love about this bunch is that we understand what bloggers got to do when we’re at an event or a getaway like this one. We really spent the morning shooting OOTDs but it was fun because everyone loves doing it.

I wore this linen button down with tropical print which I bought a day before our scheduled beach trip at H&M, and paired with a white pants and mandals. I love the print of this button down because it’s perfect for summer, the cloth is also made of linen which breathable and comfortable to wear.

Tropical Paradise

I’m really obsessed with this pair of mandals which I got from Zalora and if you read my blog or following me on Instagram, I already have a couple of posts wearing it. I also used a straw hat to protect my head from the heat, and a pair of sun glasses which I got from Metro Department Store for only Php100. You know, some good stuff doesn’t really need to be expensive.

Tropical Paradise

I also brought this envelope with me and guess what, I got this at National Bookstore and I thought I can use it as an envelope clutch, and it worked! I like how it goes well with the whole look.

A Trip to Hong Kong Disneyland https://countocram.com/2016/03/03/a-trip-to-hong-kong-disneyland/ https://countocram.com/2016/03/03/a-trip-to-hong-kong-disneyland/#respond Thu, 03 Mar 2016 11:15:04 +0000 http://countocram.com/?p=641 Continue reading "A Trip to Hong Kong Disneyland"]]> A trip to Hong Kong is not complete without visiting the Happiest Place on Earth, Disneyland. It was actually my second time at Hong Kong Disneyland, the first one was in 2013 with my blogger friends. I don’t really have plans on visiting the park during this trip but since it was my best friend’s first time in Hong Kong, I had no choice but to bring him there.

The rain didn’t stop us from visiting Disneyland, and we’re glad that it stopped in the afternoon. The rain also made the day extra cold, good thing I came prepared. I always make sure that my Disneyland outfit has a Mickey Mouse print on it. I had done this during my visit in 2013, and Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea visits last year.

I fell in love with this blue hooded pullover with a Mickey Mouse print the moment I saw it. I really love the color and the classic look of the print. I paired it with an acid washed joggers and white sneakers, which is the only pair of shoes I brought the entire trip. Comfy joggers and sneakers are a must when visiting a theme park since there’s a lot of walking, and uhm running to be first on the line at your favorite attractions. Inside my backpack are my essentials and extra jacket just in case it will become colder since we planned to stay until night time to watch the fireworks. What I love about my Herschel backpack is that it can fit a lot of items but it doesn’t look bulky. The timeless design is also a winner.

My second time at Hong Kong Disneyland was enjoyable. I thought I will get bored but with the new attractions and shows, it made my visit felt like it was my first time. To celebrate Hong Kong Disneyland’s 10th year Anniversary, they prepared new attractions which includes Fairy Tale Forest, Mickey and the Wondrous Book show, Disney in the Stars and Happily Ever After Twilight Celebration.

Disneyland really brings out the kid in us. Every visit will really make you feel like a kid again. If you’ll ask me if I’ll be visiting Hong Kong Disneyland on my next Hong Kong trip? My answer is, why not?
